Everyone
Maya,
I am honored that you directed this thread to my attention, as well.
And I am in awe of the work and love that has taken everyone through learning to giving.
But I ha' m' doubts about the worth of any input from me. I have not studied as you have, and I am not a 'healer' in the same way you are, if at all.
In all things, I operate on a level I call, 'seat-of-the-pants' - I try to understand whatever I see around me, and attempt to fit in what I believe I have understood in the past, wherever it seems appropriate.
Naive, I suppose, but it is all I have. I was spoiled for 'doctrines', early on.
I also suppose that I place onus on 'attitude', particularly the ones of 'openness', and 'kindness', and 'anticipation', more than most others.
No matter my upbringing, I am stuck with optimism as my guiding light. I cannot see that the energy/power we come from, live by, and go toward, is ever 'less than' anything mankind can create or imagine.
We are unable to spoil the original, the eternal.
As I see it, we only live individual possibilities, infinite in variety, and that we may change in a twinkling, as we see fit.
In that light, I see the thinking of folks like Jane Goodall, (
http://www.janegoodall.org/jane/essay.asp ), as prophetic, and perhaps as guiding, as the opinions of any others.
I find everyone's opinion immensely interesting, often wondering how they came to their conclusions...but, most of all, I must be interested in the development of my own life. That's the task at hand, I believe...to do the most I can with what I have.
I appreciate your mentioning 'forgiveness', Maya. That's a stickler, isn't it? Galling, even.
The thinking that settles that issue for me, so far, is that everyone always does the best they can. Our actions, or inactions, are always the best we can think of at the moment.
As well, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is going toward fulfillment of every aspiration, complete contentment and serenity and harmony...even if they blow it here and there, along their paths.
As I say, I feel the power we call 'life' is greater than anything we could ever do to disrupt it, even collectively. In other words, in my opinion, there is no 'evil'. Counter-productive, yes; counter-harmony, absolutely; but only a part of the whole...another 'possibility'.
The greatest hurt, or damage, or 'bad', we can concieve is no more than a lack of harmony...just as the darkest, coldest night is a lack of sunshine. If we survive it, there is always what to do next, in sunshine.
If we don't survive, then we go gently and quietly into the fulfilling and glorious light, warmth, and peace that is our birthright, I believe, no matter the circumstances of our deaths. ...All of us.
If some have not thought of this possibility, and are surprised and don't know they are dead at that last moment of consciousness, then we who remain alive can 'help' them to 'go toward the light', easily, without becoming involved in the spirit's emotional questions which are no longer relevant. Those questions are all solved in the peacefulness of death.
The peacefulness is greater than any disharmony we can ever experience. The record of the person passes into the history of mankind, intact, another possibility fulfilled...even if the history was less than harmonious...just another possibility.
Of course, if we all truly go this route to peacefulness, that includes anyone who offended us. We can simply view them as having been 'wrong' in some situations involving us...and quite unimportant, now that we see what is better.
For I believe that our understanding of 'what is better', and doing it as best we can, is the most important thing in our lives.
So there you have it, life, according to this fledgling...so far.
Wish I knew more so that I could contribute to this conversation. There are some wonderful procedures out there, for restoring harmony in individuals, and, thereby, the world.
Good for you for doing them, and for helping everyone understand them!
My best,
Fledgling
