Re: update on the pdf (and general Adobe) problem
Thanks WT,
I looked at all this, and it doesn't seem to address my problem.
This is complicated. And I’m afraid I’m pretty right-brained when it comes to this stuff. The tech that worked on this beast didn’t clean up the mess of the dead drive E. He just made it a CD drive and gave us the burning software. And this is after he gave us the E drive.
Here is a perhaps silly question…Adobe seven says its using 65 MB. Is it possible that it can be, when E drive doesn’t ‘exist’ anymore? No, it can’t , can it?
I’m wondering why we seem to have so little space on this comp. (Office takes up a ton, and I don't even use it, except for Word)
I would like to remove the non-functional adobe 7.0 so that I can perhaps download a clean new version of the same.
When I try to open adobe 7.0 which says it’s on E drive, - I get this message:
Error 1324 The path program files or the volume is invalid. Please enter it again.
When I look at my programs it shows Adobe 7.0 is still here.
When I try to uninstall it, I get the same error message and then
“fatal error during installation”. I guess it’s not actually there—but it seems to be interfering with my getting a working version of the reader.
Should I uninstall adobe 5.0 which I downloaded to the C drive and then try to download adobe 7.0? What will it do, when it can’t “access” the other 7.0 but maybe “finds” it on this computer? Any danger?
This 5.0 by the way looks pretty sketchy. Most of the drop down boxes are whited out—not much is usable…?

Update—I removed the adobe 5.0 and tried to download adobe 7.00—thinking if it goes to C drive it won’t interfere with the non-functional E drive…but when it gets to the install part—it gives me the same error… so, the installation failed.
What now?
Try the 5.0 again?
