Re: firefox .pdf problem
co-incidentally, I too am in need for a transformer for a Scanner. The votage is not standard, depends on the specific manufacturer and which design they chose. There are some potential clues to help guide you. If this "scanner" you asked about is a scanner you arleady have, you can check two places to see what voltage it needs: 1) check right on the scanner itself, usually they label this info right on the device where the little jack/receptacle is for plugging into the external supply. The manufacturer may have (or may not, it varies) left you with the pertinent voltage requirements the scanner has, via a spiffy "power information label" that they are often times required to include on such a product. 2) in my case, I have the scanner in hand, it was given to me, along with the defective external power supply "transformer". This AC/DC converter also has a spiffy power tag on it detailing the specific output the transformer provides.
Note: the tag on the transformer and the tag on the actual device (scanner in this case) often times do not match exactly, but they should be sorta close. AC/DC transformer power supply manufacturers put on their label how much power their supply can produce. Meanwhile, device manufacturers, like scanner makers, put on their label how much power their device needs. One of the problems is, these two label makers do not always use the same, clear, concise and easy to figure out language and symbols.
I've been sitting on this scanner given to me so long that I've now lost the defective power supply that came with it :( However, the tag on the scanner itself indicates "24 volts DC @ .84 Amps".
