You're welcome anytime.

I got to thinking about someone suggesting
Sugar to entice them into a feeding frenzy laced with the amo...what do you think on that? Some pure maple syrup or honey?

Well, I'll tell you a thing or two:
1- Animals LOVE food.
2- I've seen worms MOVE towards sugars and related compounds (the phenomenon can be seen as 'tropism', academically speaking- it happens I'd guess with ANY living creature that likes something: it's attracted by it. That premise sounds logical enough to me, and it seems much like an axiom)
3- You want an animal to eat poison, lure it.
So that's what I like to do. I'm going to have them 'gulp down' clove extract (which I use in many cases)? Mix it with some sugar! I mean, why not? Evidence seems to suggest that it's a safe way to proceed. In cases of suspected 'heavy' infestations, usually I'll use this approach to avoid MIGRATION (remember: avoid like it the plague) because ANIMALS ALWAYS LIKE TO STAY NEAR THE FOOD SUPPLY. Well, that's what I've heard hunters say all the time anyway, and it makes sense to me, and most importantly, it's always worked.
HOWEVER, that is not a "golden rule" of mine. There are always minor 'adjustments' on the strategy that need to be considered, like, for one, NOT to feed them just honey or maple syrup to make them happy, unless you have a very good reason for it and the evidence to support it. Some thoughts.
