Re: ugh.. dr clark on pets.

I agree with everything Lisag said about parasites and dogs. Dogs are made to lick their own butt to clean themselves and even lick others, they're made to kill and eat their prey, eat things off the ground, etc. Mothers eat their newborns stools to keep the area clean. Sure they get parasites, but its just not the same. And agreed on how fast the parents got sick; something is screwy there. Puppies are known for getting some of the worms she mentions like roundworms and the symptoms could take a lot longer than a couple weeks before you know it. (vomit, diahreah, not growing as much as they should be, etc, depends on the size/breed too)

Personally I don't believe Dr. Clark knows much about parasties in animals. She's vague and generalizes. She mentioned heartworm somewhere, why doesn't she get into how exactly heartworm is transmitted? By mosquiotos and dogs with low immune systems are the most prone to them just like with fleas, ticks and any other parasite. Why not any info on how to prevent parasites with other methods besides her parasite cleanser? I live in a high risk heartworm area and my dog hasn't been on "prevention" in years but I get him tested for it. Some rare kidney "worms" are transmitted to dogs by drinking swamp water and eating frogs. She makes it sound like dogs just have a ton of worms and its not true if the dog is in good health, not overly vaccinated and eats a raw, natural diet. Same as they say with people. Seems like she's just trying to sell her product to me.

She says to put her drops on their "dry dog food" and the only bad food is "flavored kind". Yet she tells humans how to eat healthy. Some of the ingredients in human supplements she advises to stay away from is in "dry dog food". Dry dog food is the equivalent to cereal. Proccessed nuggets with added vitamins and chemicals. But that stuff is ok as long as her drops are added to it?
Maybe cats ARE better off going to the bathroom outside, but while they're outside they're leaving the crap in your yard instead to attract more parasites and they're out wandering godknowswhere picking up more parasites. Makes no sense. So whatever.

Sorry, Rant. I just never liked Dr. Clark's view on pets. I'm sure her parasite program works, and I agree pets can have parasites that we don't know about, I would use a parasite cleansing program if I felt it was needed.. There is just a lot of ignorance in her claims.
