Yes I can tell, this is why it is so important the content of your thoughts because they produce your actions and reactions whether you are aware of it or not.
How often did those skin bumps turn out to be cancer? how much energy was wasted with those thoughts and taking the mind down that path? it is like wasting precious gas driving the wrong direction to your destination.
One thing you can do about your thoughts right now is change your mind. When the obsessive thought comes acknowledge it, then immediately ask if it serves you to any great purpose if not cast it aside. Once in a while a thought comes that says hey I Am comfortable and good. Nurture that thought and let others know. In this manner the good will have no choice but to outweigh the bad (In your mind) the world and what comes back to you from others (Family friends etc..) will catch up, they will not if you will not.
