Hi there! I am glad you will cut the Sugar out of your fast. When you start the water, don;t eat any fruit or anything else for that matter, food will prevent your body from going into the fasting mode. as you fast your stomach actually shrinks too. If you can make it on 3 days of nothing but spring water (you can add some lemon to it if you like), on the forth day there will be no hunger at all. You will know you are in ketosis when your tongue becomes white and coated, don;t be surprised but the smell of ammonia, it is normal with ketosis. Trust me, when you will be on water alone, you will not be hungry at all. Your body will feed on all the dead cells, growths, tumors and fat while being in ketosis. Don;t fast too long, 2 weeks will be good, than break with fresh orange juice mxed with water for a couple of days, than add fresh veggie and limited fruit juices for few days, then add raw veggies and fruits and at that stage you can add some protein powder to you juice for your muscles. Don;t exercise during water fast, all it will do is make waste your muscle and lose precious energy, your body will be at rest and try to rest as much as possible but do take short walks to accelerate metabolism. I broke my fast a week ago, now I make juice and eat salads and souteed veggies and add a bit of fish, I keep losing with this diet, lost another 3 pounds in the last week after initially gaining the 5 pounds of water weight lost in the begening of the fast. I feel strong enough now to start weight lifting, first lighter weights and less reps and will add more each week. Just make sure to have those juices and lots of raw veggies before the Water Fast to clean out your digestive tract so it could rest during water fast.
