Re: Copper IUD, cervical cap, other methods

I have had my Copper T380 for about a year and a half now, I did my research here on the internet and found all kinds of info, I was skeptical too, but decided to go for it. I absolutely loved it and was sure that I made the wisest choice. I also had many problems with the pill, and like you, wanted to stay away from taking hormones. I paid a pretty penny for my IUD and went to a very respectable doc in my town, just so that I was sure it was being done right, they say most complications occur at insertion or 3 to 4 months after. I got a check up after 3 mo. and was good. I recently moved and was 4 months late getting my pap, but she said I was doing well. I suddenly, yesterday, and this morning was having alot of pain. Cramping in my abdomen. I was spotting today and having a discharge, I am now online trying to find out more about my IUD. I thought everything was fine. Now I am really scared. I have read tonite that sometimes you have midcycle bleeding with iud, but I have never had this before. Needless to say I am getting checked out tomorrow and may decide to get it removed. Just think about it, I thought everything was fine and suddenly I am not so sure. I hope it turns out ok, I really loved my method and hope it isn't ruining my body.
