And it is especially so since dairy contains too much calcium. Calcium is an antagonist of magnesium. It is also important to note that studies on the inverse correlation between magnesium intake and diabetes only occurs when the magnesium is taken in through diet, and not oral supplements. Oral supplementing is not an efficient way to get magnesium into the body, as you would have to take such high amounts that result in diarrhea. Talk to anyone who has a chronic intracellular magnesium deficiency, because of heavy metals and a polluted environment. They need injections.
