Can you give us some idea of what a regular weekday and a weekend day is like for
you. I am 60 years old, female and have been trying to lose the same 20 pounds
for 40 years. I'm 5'1" and weigh about 132
pounds on a small frame. Seems
like nothing I do works. Of course, I don't stick to any diet for any length of
time (1 or 2 days) because my
Sugar drops and I head for a glass of milk or a Hershey bar.
I have a treadmill, trampoline, stationary bike, and the stretch bands (don't even
know exactly what they're for, but Dr. Phil's wife said they were the most important piece of equipment for her in her husbands gym, so I ran out and got some.) I don't eat a lot during the day, probably 1,500 calories, some days less,
some days more, but usually about 1,500 or less. But I don't stick to a specific
regime, just whatever, whenever. I usually skip breakfast, because whatever I eat
seems to drag me down, and I don't need that at the start of my day. So I go as
long as I can without anything. I've tried eating boiled egg whites during the
day to keep my energy up. Didn't work that well. The more I think of 'dieting'
and what I'm going to eat, the more I WANT to eat. I do better just doing without,
it's just that I can't lose weight.
Any suggestions for me? I'd sure like to lose at least 20
pounds before I get
any older. Would getting a set of real weights help? I have the hand held things on my treadmill. But don't use them. How does a person learn what's a good
weight training program? Are you talking about something like "CURVES"? Or can
a person do just as well at home? I live a fairly good drive from the nearest
work out facility of any kind, and it's Curves. (Live in a very small town, miles
from any big town.) Thanks
