Lemon-gazing....

I don't own any books on chakras, I've yet failed to find one that really resonates with me - I've found some interesting information through web searches but none of it seems to go into as much depth as I'd like. I recently flicked through one called 'Colour your life' (I think that's what it was called) but I can't remember who the author was. I'm still at the stage of learning where chakras and colours are concerned but I'm finding it very interesting so far. Did you have a look at the links I posted to the Solar plexus info? I recently had a reading with a good friend who is a very gifted clairvoyant and healer, and the yellow/solar plexus issue showed up for me too, along with the issue of finding an outlet for my creativity. According to her, this is a very common imbalance nowadays. The good news is that you need not do anything rash like painting your home canary yellow (!), simply meditating while gazing at something yellow (or any colour corresponding to the chakra you are working on) will be fine - a lemon meditation perhaps :)? I know that colour therapists suggest investing in some poster-sized pieces of card in various colours, easily obtained at an art and cratft outlet (or paint your own). These can then be put away when not in use.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be starting your training soon. After your first attunement, the 21 day clearing/cleansing can be a real eye opener. Lots of old stuff comes to the surface, much like it does while cleansing physically, and the opportunity is yours to come to terms with it and let it go forever. This is all made quite easy by the fact that you can give Reiki to yourself to aid the process.

You may find that your creativity will start to surface more easily when you become involved with Reiki, it certainly did for me.
Re: Pink - your therapist referred to compassion and caring needing an outlet, and pink is associated with healing, so it's not altogether unlikely that you will go on to make healing with Reiki, and with your knowledge and experience of health related matters, a major outlet for this compassion - and of course this type of work fosters love, both for yourself and for those you are helping.

~'She may well have been alluding to something far more obvious, a physical outlet for this bottled-up love perhaps (horror of all horrors, a “partner”)~

LOL It's not so bad to have a partner you know, as long as you find the right one! However, the love in question can extend to anyone you encounter in your life - friends, family, strangers on the street. Family is probably the most challenging, as it involves accepting them warts and all, no matter how maddening they can be.... And not forgetting of course, love for yourself.

I smiled when I looked up the spine connection in my book - it represents the flexible support of life - need I say more?
I'll let you know if I find a good book on the chakras to invest in. In the meantime, would you like me to include you when I am sending distant Reiki?
