Re: The Healing Codes
Hello Karrotten,
Always trust YOUR instincts. The trouble is MAKING SURE they are your instincts and not other people's influence of shame, guilt, humiliation or intimidation, that is the first step in self-healing, believing in yourself. For me, my own experience of LONG-term (as opposed to SHORT-term)
Depression started in childhood and I realized after 51 years that it was basically an identity crisis because we first establish our identity as being PART of the family. My family was a very dysfunctional family that later divorced, and I was chosen to be the family flunky instead of being well accepted into the family (like the mother dog rejects the runt of the litter). So, believing in yourself and your UNADULTERATED (your own personal) thoughts is essential for self-healing. Of course, other people's input can be helpful to consider (ONLY consider until and if you're convinced it's right for you, BECOMING YOU-self is the objective). Very little attitude adjustment is necessary, you have to first realize what your pain is (it is mostly the pain of not knowing what is causing the pain in your heart/mind) so that you can 'leave it alone'. If you choose to become as a [particular] book is, you can do that. If you choose to be as the cassette tapes of a motivational speaker teaches, you can do that, but if you choose to become 'SELF' (a pillar of majesty made in the image of God 'I AM' Exodus 3:14), you need to SELF-heal, and you will always be stronger because of it.
