Re: Isn't Sushi a great way to get new parasites?
Eating the raw flesh of any creature is likely to give you some type of parasite. There are
parasites in water and soil. Animals pass
parasites in their feces and the cycle continues. If you go barefoot, like to swim in chlorinated pools or otherwise, have pets that you are close with (yes allowing your dog to slather you with its tongue qualifies) do not prepare your food properly, travel frequently, come into contact with feces (gross)
or a variety of other activities, you are likely carrying one or many different types of parasites. It is a way of life for most folks.
Another thing to consider about sushi.....if the fish is ocean caught it may likely be full of toxins (such as mercury)itself and the farmed variety may be carcinogenic due to the feed they are provided. I don't know where the worst cases are or where the fish come from that you might sample at a particular restaurant so I just avoid it completely. You could call that better safe than sorry or paranoid. Either way is fine with me!
God Bless
