Atkins- HORRIBLE DIET.

what about heart disease?
A friend of mine was on it and was eating pork sausages cooked in butter for breakfast- and eggs- also cooked in butter-I think she may have eaten pork rinds for lunch-
Does anyone think about cholesterol?
Or is this just the- I want to be thin-I don't care if I have a heart attack-at least I'll be skinny, diet?

What I have found- and I'm pretty well read on the subject-
I should also mention that I am a female at an average weight for my height with low body fat- (5'7" , 137)
Eat your fruits and vegetables folks-
you're not going to get fat from them
(provided you don't cook them in butter, bacon fat, lard, etc...)
a portion of meat, chicken or fish shouldn't be larger than your fist.
a some kind of grain-
STAY AWAY FROM FLOUR AND
Sugar (and dairy if you can)
cut down on the salt- (helps in the bloating dept.)
if you eat 5-6 meals daily (averaging 300 calories each)- you will be able to eat, not gain weight, feel good- and most importantly- be healthy.
oh, MOVING the body once in a while is good too.
and for cryin' out loud, stay away from the fast-food.
