Re: Wouldn't you call the MC anti-Atkins?
Yah I could live on brown rice and Miso soup with Wakame!! ;+D
When you say "rice" cooker are you taking about one of them Crockpot like cookers?
I've never actually cooked Quinoa at home but I've had in restaurants and I do like it a lot. Millet is another useful and nutritive grain. I only have one simple killer recipe for it but it is absolutly delicious and very filling.
While most grain contain a good amount of protein it is nevertheless an incomplete protein so they sugest that you have some kinda bean along with the grains to complete it. Lentils and aduki beans are 2 of my faves. One thing that I learned from my Macro days is about Gomasio which a mix of ground up toated sesame seed and
Sea Salt . Sprinkle some on your brown rice some time Delicioso!!!!
Something that I still do to this day from my Macro days is have a small amout of pickled something along with my grains. The theory is that it trigers the release on certain digestive juices that help you digest the grains better. I generally use sourkraut or just regular pickles. I have also used pickled Daikon or pickled ginger.
OOOOOOO my mouth is watering right now with all this food talk...;+D
