Re: Gum Disease/Periodontal

Is there a possibility they did the Flap surgery while they had you under? It's another way to combat gum disease by making the areas easier to clean and I know they romove gum tissue for that, but I believe they should have let you know that while they were at it. Another possibility is if the gums were swollen, by doing the root scaling and cleaning up the infection the gums might have gone back down to normal size. On the painful gums and teeth, I had that problem initially also and this is where my waterpik came in really handy. Several times a day I made a warm water and salt solution and put it in my waterpik and gently flushed my gums. I actually did aim the tip up into the gum and had the pik on the lowest setting. After a couple of days of doing this, my gums no longer hurt. If you haven't tried that I would highly recommend it to you. I found a website with the tooth and gum tonic and it is from a dental office that might be willing to send to you:

I paid $35 for mine, but if it works, it's worth it's weight in gold or platinum. Like I said, I have no idea of which treatment is working for me, but one of them is!
Best to you, Jennifer.
Namaste,
Donna
