Re: Started Macrobiotics diet 11 days ago

Thanks for your response.

My counselor says tht 8 cups a water a day is not needed. He also says that I have a lot of "stagnantation". I also drink 2 cups herbal tea and the miso soup so that gives me some more liquid. Yes it's been hot and humid here in Jamaica... so it's been hard.

I have lost 14 pounds and 5.5 inches. I'm not that satisfied with my weight results but I do feel pretty good and I know it's making a difference.

Answers to your questions...

Do you have any social support there? No, not that I have found out.

Any community dinners or a center where people study? No, not that I have found out.

Do you read inspiring macro books? I have ordered The Hip Chick's Guide to Macrobiotics: A Philosophy for Achieving a Radiant Mind and a Fabulous Body and The Self-Healing Cookbook: A Macrobiotic Primer for Healing Body, Mind and Moods With Whole Natural Foods. I'm getting really bored with the same food so I can't wait to try some new recipes. I have a cook who has tried but I'm having to get a new one b/c she just fixes the same thing for me everyday. I feel like cheating!

I do wish I had more support. My counselor is doing a TV show that is to come out in a few weeks. I'm trying to talk my friend who is a really good cook to come up with some creative recipes with the ingrediants I can use. I can now eat some veggies (brocoli, carrots, celery, butternut squash, & pumpkin).

Thanks!
