Yes and I can relate.
When I was younger some of my best roommates were gay.
One on particular a huge over 6 ft tall gorgeous guy.. that was so
wonderfully social and kind to anyone, unless they were crappy to him,
then he just bitched at them lol.
He was so scared of thunderstorms that we often slept together
when it was lightening out.
He was the best snuggler and neither of us had sexual interest
in each other, just good friends.. we went out together, to dance,
alot and for me, at that time, when I did not want to be harrassed
by straight guys, he provided a nice block to that.
I was very happy for him , when he met a guy that truly loved him back.
Some of my other roommates and friends were of the drag variety,
real performers.. and helped me learn about makeup !!
and really, who better to learn it from.. since, lets be honest,
they ones that aren't really overdoing it.. can often look far better
than the *real thing!*
the only set back I found in drag roommates was that they always
want to use your clothes too/ like a sister..
and that is sometimes not easy on your shoes lol !!
I have told my kids to me the best companion for a woman would
be a big, gay, male bodyguard!
He would take you shopping and really enjoy it.. be honest when
things look like crap on you..
and can carry the bags if you get tired, help you if you need personal
care from a handicapped point of view.. can carry you if you fall,
and if need help bathing or dressing it is no big deal to him
or you , since he isn't even looking at you that way.
My kids say when they get $ lol as i get older,
they will make sure they hire someone like that for me *8).
Anyhow,
Love,
Ami Joi Benton
(straight gal who has np with gays male or female)
Non of the female gays that I have known (and there have been many)
since my mother and sister were both lesbians..
both had extremely long personal relationships with their other half,
one fo my sisters was for over 5 years, and her last one about
20 years.
My interactions thru the years with their friends etc..
never bothered me, like I said most gays are not interested
in straights.
I have known a few tho that do like to see if they can snag a straight,
I guess just to see if they can..but to me that is manipulation
of a very bad nature.. since you can never base a relationship on lies.
The only problem I ever did have.. was in school days,
one of my best girlfriends was a lesbian and being young kept
trying to kiss me alot.. and I kept telling her I was just a friend
and I like kissing boys.. not girls.
but she was young, so I can't blame her for trying lol.
she did mature as she got older 8).
