Re: Why is my hair so dry and brittle?
Hi Lise
That answers it....you are a natural red head
very sensitive to the sun UV sensitive so you need to protect your hair and your skin...Red heads came from a climate that was cold....we are talking heritage here, so heat is your sensitivity.
Some natural red heads do have a kind of coarse hair as they grow a lot more to protect there face and head from the sun and to keep warm in cold climates....you could be going through your growth spurt of hair if you are coming into a cold climate now and your body isnt well enough to support the growth...evolution.
Hence the energy taken from your hair.
Go to your health store and pick up some hair products from there as you will know they are all good. Not sure what products you have over there but you need to find something with vitamin e, jojoba oils, lavender, or any nut oils as a main base for conditioner.Tea tree will get the blood flow happening again and cleanses the old shampoos out that had SLS.
Rose oil is very good and you can mix it with your conditioner.
If you have an essential oil shop around (aromatherapist) get them to make one up for you....it is much cheaper and better in the long run....or buy a book and make them yourself...they are very explainable and fun to make...great for pressies too.
Avacado and egg yolk is great as a treatment...mix it in your blender and add a bit of olive oil....warm it then apply to hair and leave it on as long as you can....
Always brush brush brush...stimulate the follicles before you shampoo your hair....use a natural fibre brush though...
Since you have also chemically doused your beautiful red hair (sorry I love red hair) you probably have still got damage in the cortex of the hair...elasticity....If the damage hair has been cut off and you have no more bleach in it then great we can start feeding it again.....just like your skin needs feeding...
Once you have done your cleaning protocols from Shelleys advice like getting the colon cleansed etc and going more regular...plus
Liver Flushing for all those hormones etc...you will definetly notice a vast difference.....I did within 2 months...if you read my posts you will see how I started out.....I feel like a new person. I had lots of hormonal problems.
No progesterone and all estrogen....so I have come along way because it is starting to balance itself out....with no birth control pills to help out.
I read somewhere that the fallopian tubes can also get congested through blood back flowing from the uterus...almost like endometris and can cause the egg and sperm to not develop.
I think once you get the blood flowing properly through cleaning your liver and colon etc....everything will flow and start a good rhythm going and your body and mind will be like a great orchestra again.
Once you have read all this from Shelleys posts and great advice you will realise how important is to keep the colon clean too because you wont be absorbing many nutrients that you take in to help your hair until you detox.
