Re: Why is my hair so dry and brittle?

Yes sodium laureth and lauryl are the same....they trick you with the names...

Its a radical alright.
Im sorry to say but Loreal do have this as a main ingredient in all there products.
It is an ingredient that expands all the other so called good ingredients.
They put about a teaspoon of all the essential oils in the bottom of the vat...then sodium lauryl sulphate next....this expands the product to the top of the vat which in hind sights makes 10,000 bottles of shampoo. Then they charge an astronimal amount of money for (sodium laurly sulphate only product)and saying that ,its not just loreal. Check the ingredients all the time on shampoos. Thats what gives you the foamy or gel like product. Most people are convinced that if it doesnt foam up its not good shampoo or you need more.....hence why we go through so much shampoo when it is healthy as we are psycologically waiting for the foam or froth....it better that it doesnt froth. The froth is what is drying your scalp out.
The sodium laurly sulphate opens up the cuticle of the hair and gives it almost a shock this makes the cuticle very susceptible to damage as it is like an elastic band stretching all the time.
Sooner or later it has to snap. This is chemically done to help absorb the small amount of essential oils to enter the cuticle then to the cortex of the hair, to give you that so called instant sheen (pantene is definitely one of them) silcone based)
Have you seen what tyres on cars look like when they spray them with silcone...very shiny...just what we want shiny hair...it then puts a film on the hair and it builds up, making the hair limp in the end...due to too much residue of silicone and if you chemically dye your hair...it becomes uneven and the result is very faded and patchy in areas...due to the silicone protecting anything from getting in. So all those nice ingredients are a waste in shampoos with silicone as it wont even penetrate the hair.
This has also been known to cause eye irritations and eye problems in the retina....especially in baby products...that is what gives you the sting when shampoo gets in your eyes.
The sodium laurel sulphate stays in your system . It is used also to clean down mechanics oily floors from grease...planes get washed down with it and so on....nasty stuff...
The other psycological effect these shampoos have on us is that if you change to a healthy product...the scalp gets dry..making you think that its "not working" but it is actually detoxing the scalp of the chemicals....so keep up with it and it will be noticeable after about a month when the dermis sheds the old chemicals out.
Baking soda is excellent to get residue out of the hair.
Mix it with your shampoo (non sodium laurly sulphate one)especially if you have used silicone products or vegetable waxes.

I strongly want to make everyone wake up to Sodium lauryl sulphate as it is nasty...not just for your health but your pocket and make you aware of the damage it can do to childrens eyes.

No 2 Colour... next episode....

Krissy
