Re: What to do for Depression

Michelle,

Good luck with everything! Are you seeing any kind of specialist? They might be able to help with deficiencies. I've seen dozens and dozens of GPs and they're all virtually useless. They tend to do blood tests (if they're pushed) and then the tests come back okay and they say I'm fine and send me home. The only times GPs have "helped" me in the past, they've given me things like Antibiotics and steroids, which, predictably, made the candida worse (didn't know I had it at the time).

Lately I've been seeing an alternative doctor who specialises in candida and diagnosed me straight away with a severe case of it, she also tested me and found that most of my organs weren't functioning well, due to the candida. I'm currently on a programme that she claims will "cure me in 5 weeks". It would be great it if were true but we'll see. But she seems to have picked up on every little detail of what's wrong with me which is reassuring. I don't know what the test is called she did on me but it's something to do with bio electical fields and she sends a small charge through my body (you can't feel it) putting swatches of food/candida etc into the machine, and she can tell straight away what suits me and what doesn't, and what my body is infected with.

This lady was extremely supportive and was very interested in my emotional state and recommended a bit of counselling too. She told me she believes the physical problems can stem from deeper emotional problems and the only "complete" cure is to sort your head out too! Perhaps if you found the right person you could get this kind of "all round" support? There must be someone near you like that? I found my lady by asking in health stores.

Saying this, I'm still very wary of any kind of alternative practises because I'm a Christian, and I have to be careful what I let people do to me. Anything 'spiritual' like reiki or yoga is a big no-no for me — it has to be a purely scientific practise.

I guess we'll see how it pans out for me and I'll be letting you all know on here how it works out. But it seems like I'm getting somewhere now, as opposed to nowhere before!

All the best,

Lee
