The problem is what constitutes an overdose for one person may not for another. Retinol-binding protein levels are highly individual. Some people make more than enough and some people are quite deficient. Those who are deficient, particularly due to a disease process, can develop retinol toxicity at even normal or below normal retinol intakes.
