Re: where do i start?
Bone broth is a wonderful, healing food. See if you can find some. Some people offer it at farmer's markets and one can sometimes find it in containers at organic food stores. You can make it yourself if you can find grass fed, grass finished bones from beef or lamb. You can also make it with organic chicken or turkey bones.
If you can get the bone broth, do a 2-3 day fast with only bone broth and organic popcorn. The popcorn will give you some fiber and will allow you to chew, which will make the fast tolerable. This will give your gut a chance to calm down. Then add in one new food a day. Start with simple soups of cooked veggies. Keep track of what you eat and watch for reactions. Focus on adding veggies and fish. During this time, take 6 capsules of activated charcoal at night before bed. This will help clear toxins. Keep up the charcoal for about 10-15 days. It will turn your stool black. Do not be concerned.
Keep up the bone broth every day for 21 days as you add in new foods.
Avoid rice, white and red potatoes, tomatoes and all other night shade plants at least until you have finished the 21 days. Rice, potatoes and tomatoes have lectins which can irritate the gut just like gluten, causing leaky gut. I would also avoid all processed foods, (too many ingredients), dairy, supplements, legumes, seeds, nuts and soy until you have a solid base of foods you can tolerate. Keep adding foods at the rate of one per day until you've added them all. Also add spices, oils, at the rate of one per day.
This is a long, slow process but you have had an inflamed gut for a long time and an
Elimination Diet is the only way to find your
food sensitivities .
Do some research on Hashimoto's hypothyroidism.
Eliminate the birth control pills too. You need to start from as clean a slate as possible.
