And the burning has been redirected to forced institutionalization now. Less messy and stinky and humans do get a bit resistant after a while, since burning at the stake is so vile. But it's really easy to drug them up to the point of non- functionality, and by that point, it's easy to dismiss their words as mere drug induced ramblings.
