Re: Albendazole cured me & my dog - bird mites, six months later.

OMG!!! BEWARE...Albendazole can cause TOTAL hair loss! I LOST ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR, and it did NOT cure the bird mites! I followed the above regiment/direction for taking Albendazole for exactly one month, until huge clumps of my hair started falling out in my hand and in the shower. Some days I did not take the entire 10 ml, but cut it down to 5 ml, so I was not even taking full strength some days. I am so depressed at being bald now...and wish I had never found this site and tried this stuff!
I have had bird mites for over a year without any results in getting rid of them. I did not want to take this medicine, but felt it was my last chance for a cure. I contracted the bird mites from the neighbor's huge dirty bird cage hanging a foot away from our fence in the back yard. It rained and stormed and my family and I went outside after the storm, and we all got bit and bit by "something." Long story short, it was bird mites. My husband and son did not get the infestation on their body, but I sure did! It has been a nightmare! Our house got infested and doctors would not believe me, and labeled me delusional without even looking at my skin or examining the lesions all over me! So, after trying everything I could inside and topically, I read this post about Albendazole!
DO NOT TAKE this if you worry about your hair. I am sick, sick, sick that I lost all my hair. Now I have bird mites and am bald. All the hairs fell out of my legs too. I have been off the medicine for 10 days (I immediately stopped at the 30 day mark as this is when the hair loss started dramatically and I noticed no improvement on ridding me of mites), and my hair kept falling out by the clumps until now. DO NOT USE Albendazole...maybe some have slight hair loss, but not me...I had TOTAL hair loss. I am now scared it will never grow back! If by day 30 this stuff is not curing you, it will most likely not do so! DANGEROUS to take this amount! I am posting this to warn everyone to think twice before taking this medication. I am so depressed now and angry that I find myself not only with bird mites but also bald! Tweet
