Coming off the anxiolytics and healing the brain, spinal cord and digestive system as well as the rest of your body from taking the benzos is entirely a different story. Events that were traumatic will be remembered or can even turn into PTSD, but the benzos have a half life that makes them stay in the tissues because they have an affinity for protein as well as fat. That's what takes so long in the 5th stage of detox of this program. As long as your liver and colon are full of poisons that have weight, the rest of the body can't detox. The lymphatic system can't dump.
I have maintained that all poisons kill, but that the psyche drugs may take years to get out of the tissues because of their half life. My chiropractor says he has seen it go on for years in people who have done some kind of detox. That detox might not have been as thorough as the Natural Healing Paradigm, but this program doesn't change the nature or pharmacology of these drugs. Therefore, my experience is that the protracted withdrawal symptoms can go on for years after you think your body should have eliminated this stuff. These are real physical symptoms that include tight muscles and the whole gauntlet of symptoms mentioned in the Ashton Manual. I don't agree with most of the information in that manual b/c the symptoms are coming from not only the remainder of the tissue drugs but from brain, spinal cord and gut injury as well as injury to the whole body. The drugs destroy tissue, so the body has to heal. Cause and effect. Destroyed tissue has to be replaced by new and healthy tissue. It was the condition of the colon and liver when the person went on the drugs as well as how long they took the drugs that is going to say how well the drugs got packed into the tissues and how long it's going to take to eliminate them out of the tissues.
