Re: Mastic Gum temporarily ended my CFS, why would it stop working?

Try some choline and see if that fixes it - choline is a vital component of bile - if that does not fix it then try some ox bile enzymes.

Ridges in the nails are due to poor protein assimilation which typically happens under stressful conditions - read that as infections can cause considerable stress.

Assuming you are getting usable protein in the diet then somewhere they are not being converted. Digestion of protein starts in the stomach with HCl and pepsin production. HCl is dependent on nutrients such as b12 - so a b12 deficiency can cause reduction in HCl production leading to protein wasting via the digestive tract. B12 is also a necessary component of methylation.

Methylation is a critical function that involves protein metabolism, so assuming you are breaking down the proteins via digestion, they may not being converted. So a missed nutrient in the methylation cycle can spawn other problems. Make sure you are getting adequate b vitamins such as B6, B2, Choline, B12 and folic acid.

When the body is sick there are either nutrient components missing, infections or toxins. I would invest $100 or so with a hair analysis test which I think Trace Elements is best, I would also consider a heavy metal challenge through Doctors Data. There well could be some underlying heavy metal issues.
