There are probably a few reasons but one is that DMSA has a negative effect on neutrophils, one of the body's natural defenses against candida.

Some people seem to be more sensitive to this than others.

I've done okay on DMSA for my lead problem; however I know I have to avoid it if I am fighting a cold or it will blow up.

A close female friend gets candida flares if she uses DMSA more than once a month or so. I've heard many such reports in the detox groups.

DMSA can still be helpful even just once per month, especially if the person has a lead problem.
