Re: I am officially diagnosed

"I haven't seen anything but gross mucous, but it's the microscopic stuff that is a threat. If i cough a worm up I'd lose my mind."
It is my sincere hope that NONE of this applies to you.
With some roundworms....
Filarial stage of roundworm in lung, irritation, cough up, swallow, on its way to the gut to become full-fledged adult.
Looking at sputum on tissue with the naked eye won't see it.
Employing a 5x may see what looks like a.... tiny thread.
Upon lifting and examination with more magnification, well there it is....
There is someone in the know who uses a tissue for coughing up.
Any sputum that has been brought up, can be brought up, is deposited into tissue.
Wraps it carefully and disposes of.
When at home:
In this process doesn't use direct hand contact to pump soap from a container.
Uses another tissue for contact.
Also to turn faucet handles on.
Thinks of the microscopic as contamination.... which it is.
And takes precautions accordingly.
Doesn't over-do things.
Just thinks what has to be done to prevent contact with what just might have coughed up.
And which most likely is in the sputum on the tissue... but which could have ended up on hand as well.
If/when on the road, shopping, errands... employs hand sanitizer after cough up.
Now, that is this someone else.
I've taken a look at sputum.
Mine. My My. Looked innocent enough until I really took a closer look.
For some things, the lungs are part of the cycle, and this is especially so, as in semi-chronic to chronic, for those that auto-infect.
Glad you found a doc from a part of the world that acknowledges that humans get worms.
As to treatment, best of.
