Re: Liquid vs pills
Lynn,
Thank you for your opinion on this question.
I have no answer. Unfortunately all of the
Iodine doctors lump
Iodine &
Iodide together under the term "Iodine" and make up for this fuzzy definition by prescribing
Lugols or iodoral which contain both
Iodine &
Iodide in the "correct ratio." It is not for me to say whether they are right or wrong. They have their track record of patient success to prove their point.
This is the very best document I have that helps define the needs of the body, and this was EXTREMELY difficult to find.
==========================
* Our body requires both iodine AND
Iodide (lugols iodine & iodoral capsules recommended)
- - - Iodine is used by the prostate + Stomach
- - - Iodide (
SSKI ) is used by the thyroid + skin + Salivary
- - - kidneys, spleen, liver, blood, breasts & intestines can use either form
Thyroid needs 3% prefers iodide
Skin needs 20% and prefers iodide
Salivary Glands prefer iodide
Muscles (650mg) and fat needs(700mg iodine) 70%
Breast tissue needs 3-5 mg / day minimum and prefers iodine
Prostate prefers iodine
Stomach prefers iodine
Lungs prefer iodide
Entire body stores 1500 mg 1.5 gm total
* Dr Brownstein Recommended supplements =
Lugols Liquid or iodoral 12 or 50 mg caps

So bottom line, I don't have anything to support or deny Trapper's theory. All of my documentation is based on reports & research by the iodine doctors. As always each person must decide for themselves which supplement is best.
If I find anything more on this subject, I'll post it for all. For now, both Trapper & the Iodine doctors are clearly correct.
