Re: cold a symptom of iodine detox, sole for salt loading?
I know I may be opening a can of worms here, Ferventer, but is there a possibility that it is the other way around with A?
I have read that high vit A levels can inhibit the activity of D because they compete for cellular receptor sites, and the vit D council rather flips the 5:1 A:D ratio, and suggests something more like 1:10, or even 1:100.
Cod liver oil is, naturally, from livers, and the liver is the major storage point for metabolized vit A. It could be that CLO has that ratio for that very reason, as opposed to Vitamin D being more preferentially stored in the subcutaneous (sub-scalies) fats of the fish, and about the muscles. Actual vit A :: Vit D3 ratios may be quite different in the whole fish (anyone who can find that data, thumbsup!) ...
The vit D3 council's data on 'healthy cholecalciferol (D3) levels' however are based upon blood tests on californian surfers, and not on whole-body evaluations.
To begin with in a toxic individual, we should be able to assume a certain level of liver impairment, which would mean that vit A levels are low (alongside D3!)
What are your thoughts?
I've personally experienced the vit D3 triggering Mg deficiency thing. Quite unpleasant, but a learning process is a growing process too. :)
