Re: B. Subtilis might be killing me. Please help!
I'm not and wasn't taking anything else. If you're referring to the anti
parasite treatments, I didn't start those until the fourth straight week of diarrhea. Also when I said "b. subtilis and others" I meant other types of bacteria in that same probiotic. From my research I've found that b. subtilis has both a powerful anti-parasitic and an
Antibiotic effect. It was even originally discovered as a cure for dysentery. Given that information, I started thinking, this was unlikely to be a parasite. So after 3 weeks of
parasite treatments with no improvements, I stopped all of them. I figured the most likely scenario was that the b. subtilis (with its
Antibiotic properties) had killed off most of the normal healthy flora in my gut, so I started taking a potent probiotic with NO "soil-based organisms." After 4 days of taking it, I had my first semi-solid stool after a month and a half of watery diarrhea. Each day since it has gotten more and more solid. Important side-note, I was in perfect health before all of this and had perfectly healthy, regular solid poops. I am obsessive about perfect health and proper nutrition and have been for years. I hadn't changed anything about that, there's no chance it was a parasite, and a virus would not give you over a month of diarrhea. The only factor that changed was that I started taking the b. subtilis probiotic. Yes, I should have left well enough alone, but Kimberly Snyder made the benefits of her product sound so magical. I suppose I learned a valuable lesson, but at the price of becoming dangerously anemic and losing all my strength, energy, and fitness, it scarcely seems worth it.
