Re: 30 years in and OUT, by MH
Hi MH, Good for you that you do not have to be exposed to lead anymore. My friend quit a job surrounded by a lot of stress, greed and negativity in the stockmarket, he downsized, simplified his life, he got rid of a lot of unwanted negative baggage and material 'trappings' and he found a new low stress job that he likes, he drives a flower truck doing flower deliveries for a local florist, he is surrounded by pretty flowers, nice aromas, happy customers and after being cooped up in an office for years he said he likes being able to drive around outdoors and for the first time in years says he is happy with his job.
There are help wanted signs everywhere. The older baby boomers are all retiring and there are not as many younger people to fill all the vacancies left by the now retiring boomer populations. The new immigrants usually take the hard unskilled labor jobs, due to language barriers and they seem to be the only ones HEALTHY enough to do heavy physical labor jobs, ie, landscaping all day in the hot sun etc.
There are so many jobs and self run cottage businesses out there, that I am sure you will find many things you actually like or love to do.
I saw a lot of people die due to stressful and toxic jobs, they died in thier early, mid or late 40's and never got to see 50 or even try a new job opportunity, a new lifestyle change, a new work, or career change. A few suffered bad heart attacks or deadly cancers because of the toll a stressful or toxic job creates, those (lucky?) few that survived stressful work induced illness said they would never go back to toxic or stressful work again. They found new, less stressful, non toxic work they actually enjoy.
I am happy you are wise enough to take care of your health MH.
Without good health, as we all know, not much else matters.
Best Wishes,
J.
