"Stats show that TB has more of a chance of causing AF than starvation"
Your link is talking about adrenal insufficiency, not "adrenal fatigue":
Tuberculosis (TB), an infection which can destroy the adrenal glands, accounts for about 20 percent of cases of primary adrenal insufficiency in developed countries. When adrenal insufficiency was first identified by Dr. Thomas Addison in 1849, TB was found at autopsy in 70 to 90 percent of cases. As the treatment for TB improved, however, the incidence of adrenal insufficiency due to TB of the adrenal glands has greatly decreased. http://www.medicinenet.com/addison_disease/page3.htm
"Adrenal fatigue" is where alternative medicine thinks your adrenals get so exhausted to keep up with all the stress in our lives, but somehow are still able to produce higher than normal cortisol levels.
Adrenal insufficiency, or Addison's disease, is where your adrenals get physically damaged and can't produce adequate amounts of hormones like cortisol anymore.
