Re: Question for TEI Individuals

Totally agree with what you said, my calcium is high at the moment just submitted my retest... my gut feeling told me I didn't need to continue supplementing with large amounts of calcium as it was high even though I was told I have biounavailable calcium and my body still needs it, so I stopped this past month and have seen a huge difference in my hypoglycemia symptoms to the point where I only have to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and a small snack in between whereas before I was having to eat every 2 hours at the least. I will be checking my thyroid again via blood test, although I know this one tends to be not as accurate as it all depends on the time of the month and time of day that they take your blood.... I guess I will weight out the symptoms and see if they improve with time but my hypoglycemia has definitely improved....

After having been off calcium for a month, I didn't want to drop it too low so I am now starting back up on a low dose of calcium. I did also add in a couple of new supplements when I stopped calcium so it is hard to tell if the hypoglycemia symptoms got better all due to this, but I think it played a part in it. Also, I was having chest pains and pains down left arm which has almost disappered since stopping calcium.

It really makes me wonder what the whole biounavailable calcium is all about and why it is "necessary" to continue supplementing with it.

I will keep you updated on how adding in the calcium goes at a small dose and if it brings back any of the above symptoms again. I too am thinking about TEI as an option once I get my retest back... we will see because I do appreciate your current practitioner but find this to be sort of a gliche that I don't quite understand.

Another is the potassium and how this differs quite a bit from the two. I am starting up on Spartan MK which has both calcium and potassium in it... it will be interesting to see if on my next retest in two months how much more my potassium raises from supplementing with it.

Wishing you all the best! :)
