I remember when hubby and I went to Hawaii WAY back in '86. Fruit buffets everywhere. Veritable smorgasbords of fruitarian delights for which neither one of us were 'into' at the time.
BUT
in that we delighted with because they were SO GOOD.
And, oh yes, we were TOLD to salt it; the reason he simply gave was that we 'mainlanders' are not used to GOOD FRESH fruit and our digestive systems would handle it all better if we salted it.
