Re: 5,000 IU a day of Vitamin D - too much?

However much vitamin D you take, you MUST take 10% in Vitamin K2 ( MK7 Menaquinone), i.e. 1000iu Vit D with 100iu Vit K2. they are synegistic plus K2 helps your body absorb Vit D.
I was in a clinic recently where I saw a box of Vit D on the desk, it was clearly marked 25,000iu. When I asked the consultant he replied 'We use those for patients who have serious heart problems'. I have been taking 5000iu of Vit D for 12 months now without any problems , I am 71 yo.
The Institute of Medicine (IOM) in the UK reccomend 4000iu daily of Vitamin D. But do not forget, Vitamin K2 (MK7 Menaquinone) is essential.
