QE, I totally avoid "isolates." 

There are "essential" amino acids and "essential" fatty acids ... to date I've not run across a single "essential" vitamin, meaning my body makes them.

I'm lucky to live in SC where there are few impossible to get SOME sun days.  I try to take lunch outside, where I pull up my sweater sleeves, sometimes even my pants legs and get sun on as much of me as possible.  Doing some brisk waling can allow me to wear less clothes than I would need say sitting at a ballgame in the chill and wind.
