Re: Does Colloidal Silver work for SIBO (IBS)?
Dave - The diet was the easy part before the anti-biotic because any misstep caused so much agony that they quickly learned what to avoid and were very diligent with it. They even downloaded a fodmap diet app to see which foods were and weren't friendly before eating them.
They've been taking probiotics all along and they were one of the few things that brought relief. They're on day 9 of the Rifaximin and feel maybe 50% improvement which is great but they're still begging for probiotics - and I'm guessing venturing out of the approved diet tho they swear otherwise since they're starting to relapse a bit.
Do you feel improvement after ramping up the probiotics? And you're right that traditional
Antibiotics don't do much for most people tho some ARE helped. Have you been on a course of Rifaximin? If so how long were you on it?
It's usually used for 7-10 days but our doctor recommended 30 days each "just to be safe". Unfortunately that extra "safety" will cost us a total of $4000 un-reimbursed by insurance.
Were you diagnosed with SIBO by taking the breath test? And how successful have you been in getting rid of it? Thanks for your input!
