I completely agree with your comments on Antibiotics in general, but this case is a bit different.

Firstly because there isn't supposed to be ANY bacteria in the small intestine at all - which is why the symptoms are so severe and it's also so hard to reach and treat.

Secondly, this particular Antibiotic is uniquely ONLY absorbed by the lower intestine and doesn't affect the rest of the body the way other Antibiotics do - so none of the usual Antibiotic side effects.

No doubt why it's so unbelievably expensive. Plus the fact that unlike 99.9% of other pharmaceuticals, it actually cures something - and even something nothing else will.
