Re: Questions
Anfisa,
over the years here on this forum it has been so gratifying to witness the life-changing benefits that water-only-fasting has made to peoples lives; it has literally turned their lives around from "mere existence" to actually living life to its fullest. I have stated this many times here on the forum, and this has to be one of my favourite quotes, is the comment made by the novelist Upton Sinclair after his first prolonged fast: "I have discovered a state of superhealth, unknown to humans". How true that comment is.
Although it may be hard to see this for yourself at this moment in time, you will be embarking on the single most important and radical journey to health that anyone could possibly undergo.
My advice at this time is to look forward to what "will be" as the journey to full life-invigorating health could and probably will be a difficult one, and where you may feel you want to "throw in the towel" at various points along the way, but if you persevere, and I so hope that you do, the rewards are profound. The support you need and the mental resolve in achieving your goals are only a post away on this forum; everyone but everyone will be behind you no matter what. I will personally make that my commitment to you here and now.
"Chiron" and "NH.is.Scientific" have already offered their support and where their comments are welcomed.
Despite my involvement and study of Nutrition/Natural Hygiene and fasting over the last 31 years, I am still learning: for example Chiron has led me to EFT and this is something I would heartily recommend.
Your description of OA seems as if it is the acute stage with recently being diagnosed and the amount of movement/pain that you have: the prognosis is a good one as Water-only-fasting is most effective for this condition at this stage.
EFT should help you to address your emotional fears and demons while you are fasting; many people such as yourself use food as a crutch in their lives, in just the same way as people use tobacco or drink, but fasting will change your mental outlook profoundly. My only concern in a World where we have become accustomed to popping a pill, and the problem will vanish overnight, is that this may carry over into your fast, and you may expect too much too soon: I would like to stress that your present health problems, which have taken years to develop will take time to be resolved, so we are looking at at least several months to achieve your goals: one long fast of 20 days or so (longer would be better of say up to 30 days) followed by "careful refeeding" for an equal length of time, followed by another prolonged fast if desired; the timetable to be decided by you if and when you wish to undertake another fast.
Sheltons book is very good but Braggs book is probably the more inspirational.
Set a goal and a date for the commencement of your fast; we are with you all the way, you have friends here, and for as long as it takes. Post often for support as you will need it.
If it is any comfort or inspiration to you, I underwent two extended water-only-fasts over 30 years ago in the successful battle against Advanced Leukemia, and in isolation and with only snail-mail and some telephone support!!!
I will sign off for now with my favourite quote of Sheltons........
"Yours in Health-Truth and Medical Liberty".
