UPDATE : iodine overdose

Just checking in to report that Iodine overdose CAN happen easily and quickly. I now have around nine itchy, red, raised bumps (actually they're more like little patches) due to my ignorant Iodine enthusiasm.

After Grizz talked some sense into me the day before yesterday, I stopped supplementing with Liqui-Kelp. I skipped my multi vitamin, which contains 150 mcgs of iodine, for 24 hours. And I stopped applying Iodine salve to my weird lumps and bumps. My itchy bumps, (patches?) are now drying up and not so itchy.

I started back on my multi vitamin, last night. After letting myself detox for a week, I'll start taking the Liqui-Kelp, again, SLOWLY, as recommended in Grizz's indispensable file.

Once again, in the interest of helping someone else, here are my dosages that led up to this mild (thank goodness) toxicity.

4 or 5 once a day multi vitamins containing 150 mcgs ea. taken over 4 or 5 days.

10 drops of Liqui-Kelp containing ~375 mcgs one time a day for two days.

Iodine salve I concocted using coconut oil and 10 drops of Liqui-Kelp applied sparingly to 6 weird bumps on my skin, several times a day.
