Re: TMG lowering body temp.

I've been taking TMG, trimethylglycine for a little over a week now. I was feeling depressed over finances and was crying a lot...pretty much daily though I was trying not to. And I also have been having some tummy issues and pale stools (very yellowish). I suspect part of the problem has come about from trying Irvingia for a month. It gave me anxiety and my stools were much lighter when I used the stuff.

Lighter stools would likely be from a decrease in bile secretion.

Anyway the TMG cheered me right up and I felt so much happier and energetic each day that I took it. My stools have gotten a little bit darker. I do think it is helping me feel more optimistic in general.

Here is the "however", every day that I take it I am cold. I feel cold and my body is cold to the touch.
Also I have been having breast soreness.

Sounds like increased progesterone.

Does TMG have an effect on hormones?

Yes, the production of hormones and the breakdown of hormones are dependent on methylation.  For example, methylation plays a role in the production of progesterone and the breakdown of estrogens.

Why might it be making me cold?

Not real sure.  You mentioned getting a stimulant effect from it as well, which makes it sound possible like an epinephrine increase.

I was really hoping I could just take the TMG by itself for awhile as I would ultimately like to get off of all supplements, but...are there any suggestions of what to take to warm me up that I could take with the TMG (something not too stimulating as the TMG can be quite stimulating at times, and something that does not cause me to gain weight. I am currently trying to lose 10-15 lbs)

Supplementing with lecithin granules can help with weight loss and controlling epinephrine.

I'd also love to hear anyone else's experience with taking TMG. I'm quite fascinated by how it makes me feel and I'm wondering if the good effects will only be short lived.
It seemed my typing test and a timed math test I took for a job assessment were much improved while taking TMG.
