Re: Going to start chelation with ALA today, sick of being sick, a few questions.
"So I am not sure if its he side effects, or sheer exhaustion but today I am unable to do much of anything but sit here and obsess and worry..."
This does not sound like redistribution from some mistake on your part. It sounds more normal for a person who is either not getting the right supplement support or who is just taking too large of a dose at this time.
"Worry" if very common. Remember Hg really hammer's the body's stress response system. Adrenal support is really important for most people yet some have not yet done enough reading for this to be obvious to them. They'll struggle for weeks or months rather than do what most people have found quite helpful! I suppose sometimes it is a severe lack of $.
There are so many tips for dealing with sfx in Cutler's
Amalgam Illness book--noamalgam.com I waited too many months before I purchased it. It is a handy reference book, not the type of thing you read cover to cover.
Remember that when you double the dose you only increase excretion about 33% not 100% that one might expect. Yet, sfx increase 100% typically. Cutler stresses that it is not worth it to push the dose to excessive levels and have to deal with all of the sfx!
The hair test is often useful as well. Those with very low Li often get benefits in mood from the 5mg supplements--a friend and I are two examples. I was once on a low dose of a mood stabilizer medication and now get compliments on my easy going mood!!!
When you get your combo of supporting supplements plus chelator dose tweaked just right, life is much better!
I don't see any major problem in your case. If you don't feel well, just end the round early. This is not a problem and you'll almost be back to normal in a day or so. I take extra Vit C E Se at the end of the round to try to mop up.
You can get smaller dose caps at everythingspectrum.com as well as the folks who post the hair tests.

Hang in there. You can see why we suggest very low doses in the early rounds--12-25mg total--while the person finds the right combo of supporting supplements and maybe some endocrine medication.
I'll try to stop by later just in case you have additional questions.
Best regards,
Joe
