The tea certainly has a laxative effec, however I don't believe it is a laxative in the traditional sense...if you see what I mean.

When I first began drinking the tea it was a little too powerful, and caused diarrhoea. The pharmacist adjusted the formula in the second week to reduce its potency, however the constipation returned. So the third week she increased the potency a little more until it was 'just right'.

I do occasionally feel a little stomach cramping in the evening and when I wake up in the morning. However, once I've been to the toilet it's relieved.

Note that 'Hemp seed pill' is also available in a pill. I don't know if this as more or less effective than the tea, however I expect the latter allows greater control over the potency of the formula.
