Re: 4 months SSKI ...

Being sleepy is the darndest symptom to track down the cause of. I recently discovered I was sleepy in the afternoon due to the vit C I was taking with lunch. Think it raised my glucose, which required insulin to bring down. My body usually overshoots doing this, and I was getting sleepy from low brain glucose. I kept sucking on peppermints, and finally realized the sugar made my brain feel awake, which made me think I needed glucose which should have been available from lunch. Stopped the vit C at lunch, and no more sleepytime.

On the other hand, sleepy is also the nasty side effect of candida die-off. Actually, you said "fatigue" at first, which I feel differently about than "sleepy." With "fatigue" I thought of the copper, since it was a recent addition, but with "sleepy," I think of detox and/or food issues, and sometimes magnesium (for me).

You're okay with 50 mg zinc. You may even be fine with the copper. But just because a book says they're needed together, doesn't mean your body read that book. In my mother's case, for instance, she has evidence of copper overload, such as reddish highlights in her hair, arthritis pains helped by glucosamine, and hyperemotionalism. I recommend only zinc to her.

You'll know if you have too much magnesium if you get diarrhea. Then you've passed bowel tolerance and need to back off a bit. Till then.... I've found this site to have useful guidance for minerals --
