Re: Taking the Triple Drug Therapy for Blastocystis

Really appreciate you taking the time to document your experience.

I've been going at this for almost 3 years after my first trip to India and will finally be starting the Triple Therapy on Friday.

I'm here in Los Angeles and some of the drugs are not available. While my GI doctor would probably be willing to work with the CDD to get the drugs, I've gone ahead and had friends from India send it to me from a local hospital to save time. I'm feeling pretty terrible and really want to get started on it. The only issue is that the Secnidazole can only be found in 1g, in tablet format, opposed to 400mg or even 500mg.

My question for you, which is totally understandable if you can't answer, is: do you think taking 1g of Secnidazole would be acceptable to take with the Diloxanide Furoate and Bactrim? If not, would cutting the pill in half suffice?
