Re: New Politics Forum- Discussion instead of debate.

This is precisely why a discussion forum would be great, then it could be a case of discussing an issue, rather than debating it.

People wouldn't need to feel they had to change others minds, because that rarely happens anyway, as you said, but that is no reason not to discuss an issue, simply out of interest in the views of others, without having to be in a particular corner or standpoint, or an agenda.

I have quite varied political views, not limited to one particular party, idea, faction, or any other label, I'm sure many others are the same. There is nowhere to discuss political issues, where one can be free of being labelled either right or left, conservative or socialist, etc For those that don't fit the political boxes, a forum where all political views could be discussed, civilly, would be very welcome.

Those that like the current debate forum, would be welcome to it.

It is amazing that simply asking for an alternative to the politics debate forum, is such a threat to some.
