There are a lot of people who would be able to discuss politics, without the need for personal attacks Molly. It doesn't necessarily have to be American politics either.

There are many countries with different political systems, and many posters here from other countries, who have no-where to discuss political issues they may have, or even to discuss politics in general.

There are people, (like yourself and others), who are able to discuss a political topic without the need for all the nastiness that goes on in the debate forum. People who are mature enough to be civil to one another, even if they disagree.

Those who can't be civil, need not visit the forum. A discussion forum on the support side of curezone would give people at least some protection against the sort of attacks that occur in the debate forum.
