Re: Xanax...? +edit Re: Saliva results, please help fast.
I agree...if Xanax is the cause, then you definitely want to stabilize asap. You'll feel SO much better SO much quicker.
Here's something most need to "look out for"...
Once one has developed a tolerance, they're already in a deficit situation (they need higher dosages to stabilize) - so first they need to take enough to remove the symptoms (which is typically more than prescribed).
And then they need to take enough to prevent the return of symptoms (which, of course, again is more than prescribed...or at least more than one's been taking).
So, the 'light goes on' (it's the Xanax) and they go to their doctor asking for a dosage increase or switch to one with a longer half life, and the doc pegs them as a "drug seeker" or abuser and won't up the dosage. That can cause a nightmarish situation.
From all I've read & experienced (through those I've helped), with the short half-life of Xanax it's tough (near impossible) to "stabilize" on Xanax because the plasma level changes radically every few hours. This is especially true when one is heavily symptomatic and already in a deep deficit.
So, be SURE to play your cards right. If you've got refills, get them filled so if your doc isn't 'benzo aware' (and won't up your scriipt or switch you to one with a longer half life), you'll have the time/drugs you require to find a physician that will.
Blessings,
